DJ Spoonz - "Outkast" Mix [Audio]

First and foremost, this is another well put together mix by DJ Spoonz. The timing is perfect for all my people back home that are going to be seeing Outkast at OVO Fest tonight (right now). Really disappointed I didn't make it back for the weekend. This mix has definitely covered some of my favourites from the group.



The story of Outkast is already over two decades old, which I can't believe. I was first exposed to this Hip-Hop duo when I was in grade school, from my trips to Atlanta to visit family. I remember watching Braves games at Fulton County Stadium, which was demolished 17 years ago yesterday. I remember sitting at the table in my Aunt's house in DeKalb county watching them take the stadium down over breakfast. I remember watching Hawks games at the Omni. Watching laser shows on the side of Stone Mountain late at night. I also remember how often I was hearing Outkast's music on the radio while I was out and about with family in Atlanta. There wasn't much of a difference up north by 1996 when songs like "Elevators" were getting frequent radio play. This is definitely a great Hip-Hop duo that created some classic music over the last 20 years. If you're not in Toronto, or don't get a chance to see Outkast this year while they are touring, at least enjoy the mix.
